I recently enrolled in the Professional Dog Walker Certificate Course of the British College of Canine Studies. Although I already know a lot about canine behaviour and have collected experience in dog walking over the past years I decided to take this course to make sure my knowledge is up to date and enriched with a deeper understanding of the different challenges faced on a dog walk. I am also hoping to improve my vocabulary about dogs by taking this course.
I already finished the first unit. It was about the best way of the introduction of dogs to humans or other dogs. As expected there was a lot of repetition for me. But I also learned something new: Babies smell different to dogs than other humans. So for them they are a completely new thing to be checked out and even can worry them a little when introduced for the first time. I am looking forward to work my way through the following units.
